A major winter storm will track to our south

MADISON (WKOW) – A winter storm is gaining strength in the nation’s midsection, but most of the snow from this system will stay south of our area as it moves through over the first half of the weekend. The weather map is a computer model projection of snow totals through Saturday. It shows that Missouri, Illinois, and southern Iowa¬† are forecast to see heavy accumulations, with St. Louis receiving around 10 inches!

If your weekend travel plans have you heading south, you’ll want to be sure to keep up with the latest forecasts. If you plan to stay in Wisconsin you may see a little light snow on Saturday near the state line, where there maybe some slippery spots. The rest of the viewing area should see good travel weather with just a few flurries possible.
