MADISON (WKOW) – After a pleasant, mild stretch of weather, storms return as temps continue to rise.
High pressure stays in control tonight allowing for quiet and pleasant conditions with temps in the mid 50s.
An area of low pressure moves in Thursday allowing for scattered showers and a few claps of thunder through the morning.
Expect a break in the activity with some sunshine in the afternoon boosting highs to the upper 70s, making it one of the warmest days of the year so far!
More scattered storms will develop in the late evening or overnight, a couple of which could be strong to severe.
The main concerns for these late Thursday storms will be high winds gusting up to 60 mph, quarter-sized hail, and an isolated, weak, brief tornado.
