Improving weather, but there’s a catch

MADISON (WKOW) — We’ll trade in yesterday’s clouds and rain for sunshine today, but it’ll also come with a pesky wind.

Southern Wisconsin will sit between low pressure to the east and high pressure to the south, resulting in a brisk northerly breeze. This is a “cool wind” for us, so look for highs to only manage the upper 60s, about eight to 10 degrees below average.

The wind will stick around on Friday, too. In fact, it’ll be even stronger, as gusts to 35 mph will be common in the afternoon. It’ll be out of the southwest, though, which will send temps back into the 70s.

Another low pressure system will pay a visit Friday night into Saturday, allowing for a few scattered showers and t-storms. This feature looks somewhat disorganized, which means there should be some “dry time” on Saturday. Just a little too early to pinpoint those periods at this point. Stay tuned!
