MADISON (WKOW) — We’ll stay storm-free today, but that’ll change as the weekend unfolds.

Storms will roll through Illinois today, passing just to our south. The northern extent of this batch might clip our southern border counties this afternoon with a few light showers. Otherwise, simply expect fading sunshine with comfortable temperatures tonight in the upper 50s.

Rain chances will remain minimal tonight into Saturday morning, with any light showers continuing to favor southern areas. Overall, Saturday will be similar to today – highs in the mid 70s with a mix of clouds and sun. Showers and t-storms will become likely Saturday night as low pressure and a warm front approach from the Central Plains.

Showers and storms appear likely on Sunday and Monday, too, though the precise timing remains unclear. Just know you’ll want to stay “weather aware” if you have outdoor plans these two days.
