MADISON (WKOW) – A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Grant, Crawford, and Richland Counties through noon. A Flood Warning is in effect for much of Grant County through 4:15 pm.
Repeated rounds of thunderstorms overnight and into this morning has resulted in flooding across much of Grant County. Doppler radar is estimating 3-5″ of rain has fallen, especially in eastern sections. Mudslides near steep terrain are possible, and expect flash flooding along rivers, creeks, and streams. If you encounter flooded roads today, remember the following adage – Turn Around, Don’t Drown!
Showers and thunderstorms will taper off this morning as they trudge eastward, paving the way for a mainly rain-free afternoon with partial clearing. Temps will rise into the mid-upper 80s by late afternoon with heat indices 90-95°.
