MADISON (WKOW) — After a fairly dry start to the weekend, you’ll need to dust off the umbrellas again.
Besides a few off and on sprinkles, the rest of Saturday night looks quiet with the heavy rain holding off until after midnight.
Scattered storms will move in from Iowa just after midnight and move through the viewing area during the late night hours. These are likely to linger through the mid-morning hours on Sunday, with most areas receiving 1/10 to 1/3″ of total rainfall. Mostly cloudy skies will follow for the afternoon with highs, again, in the comfortable upper 70s.
Our next chance for rain will come on Monday, and this one could be a good soaker. While severe weather should stay south, numerous showers and storms will overspread the region by afternoon and last through the evening. Spells of moderate to heavy rainfall are anticipated, likely resulting in widespread swath of 1-2″ totals when it’s all said and done.
